    Klemperer's EMI recording is also with Schwarzkopf, which is not bad either. :)

  7. Oh, I know! Just... sometimes... she reaches for her famous charm and grasps what's similar enough to that -- yet it's also kind of arch. My goodness! Much to value and feel grateful for with her singing -- I spent decades listening mainly (almost only) listening to her Des Knaben Wunderhorn with Fischer-Dieskau and Szell. For me it's still a favorite duet-y version (with many other realizations done since!)
